A gathering place for the Diu Koli Samaj community group in Leicester is at the heart of this mixed-use, culturally led proposal. An existing chapel on-site is retained and restored, acting as the main entrance from the street and providing local, daily activities. Through the chapel there a glazed connection links into the large, top lit volume gathering space for a variety of community events. Along the street edge, aligned with the chapel, a block of residential flats are lifted a level up to allow for cars access to parking behind.
